Tim Paine has unveiled his first major signing coup with Bazball prodigy Ollie Pope signing with the Adelaide Strikers.
The 26-year-old batter and wicket keeper is the last pre-draft acquisition in the Big Bash League.
Pope, who is currently leading England against Sri Lanka in the absence of injured Ben Stokes, will team up with Ashes adversaries Travis Head and Alex Carey in the blue outfit.

The Englishman has starred in the 20-over format in addition to his international success, scoring 1295 runs in 60 matches.
A strike rate of 132.82 is sure to bolster Paine’s line up alongside Matt Short and Chris Lynn, with the Pom averaging 28.77.
“Signing with the Adelaide Strikers is an incredible opportunity for me,” Pope said.

“I’ve been watching the Big Bash since I was a kid, and it’s always been a competition I’ve been eager to be a part of. Adelaide is such a fantastic city with a vibrant cricket culture, and the Adelaide Oval is one of the most iconic grounds in the world.
“I’m really looking forward to playing in front of the passionate Strikers fans and being part of a team with such a strong reputation.
“The chance to rub shoulders with some incredible players and contribute to the team’s success is something I’m truly excited about. I can’t wait to get started.”
New Strikers coach and former Test captain Paine says he is thrilled about the signing.
“Ollie Pope is an exceptional talent with a proven track record at the highest level,” he said.
“His dynamic batting style and wicket-keeping abilities are a fantastic addition to our squad.
“We’re thrilled to have him on board and believe he will be a key player for us this season. His experience and leadership will undoubtedly elevate our team.”
Pope is set to be available for the Strikers following England’s Test tour in New Zealand in December.
The BBL draft will take place on September 1, while competition commences on December 15.
